Dailymation 2.0- part 1-Return of the Dailymation!

After a very (very) long break (almost a year and a half, I think)- Dailymations are back! (this time I mean it)

I took some time off because of my intense work as director of animation on Ari Folman's upcoming film- "the Congress"
The last time I was writing a post I was at the end of  the pre production phase (storyboard- animatik) on the feature, and I was thinking- "sure- I'll continue dailymations at night", but very very soon my workload became more and more hectic and I found myself fixing shots in the nights- all the way till the very end of the production.
A few words on "the Congress"- It's a half live action, half animation feature, starring Robin Wright, Harvey Keitel, Danny Huston, Paul Giamatti and John Hamm.
Unlike "Waltz with Bashir", which had a very small crew due to cutout technique, Here we went all the way with 2d frame by frame animation, so I was in fact managing 7 studios worldwide, so I was really testing the sentence "Sleep is for the mortals".
I'll probably do a post about the production when the materials can be released, One I can say- it was a fantastic ride and I am very proud of the way it came out. I have learned a lot  and improved a lot from working on the movie and with the fantastic talents that collaborated with us- so I'm really hoping for the best.

But now I am returning to do my (almost) daily animation sketches.
The goal, this time, would be to have a continuing link between the dailymation, so I can eventually connect them into a larger context- we'll see how that goes.

This is the first one- As always- feel free to comment!
